As we design the Skylight to your exact specifications, there is no end to the finish you can achieve! From internal to external, opaque to clear, stained glass to wrought iron features, we ensure the end result is the perfect addition to your home, complementing your architectural style and personal taste.
Recently we installed a complete internal square Sky-light ceiling in Melbourne that was 8 metres by 8 metres with nearly 12,000 coloured pieces of glass, forming a curved perimeter with a 4-metre diameter domed centre. This was backlit with artificial light, for ambiance in a ballroom and looked stunning!
When using glass sky-lights that are exposed to the external part of the building, there are many benefits. In most cases artificial lighting is not needed during the day. In colder weather, the heat from the sun can warm the space and reduce the cost of heating, thus impacting less on the environment.
Other benefits of an external sky-light is that natural light also aids in the reduction of mould build up, as sunlight is one of the best natural disinfectants.
